Two Miracles

-Written by Anna-

Our days can tend to blur together. The dailiness of stroke recovery can at times cause us to forget to STOP and REMEMBER what the Lord has done! And although we have seen the Lord work for us in so many ways this past year, today we want to intentionally stop and thank the Lord for two specific miracles. It was one year ago today that my Dad drove himself to the hospital with chest pain and while there suffered a heart attack. The doctors let us know how blessed we were for how that day unfolded and how easily we could have had a much different outcome. So today we want to stop and thank Jesus for His mercy in sparing my Dad’s life one year ago!

Our second miracle of the day is that while we have seen some reflexes and felt some of Mom’s muscles trying to respond we have seen little to no significant response in her left arm (Wilson). Today after the therapist had used the E-stim (electrical stimulation) machine on her left arm we saw movement for the first time! It has been five months since we have seen any real response in her arm so we are celebrating this victory.

I don’t have any answers as to why the Lord has been so good to us in sparing both my Mom and Dad’s life in the last year. All I know to do is to say thank you! So today we praise the Lord for His mercies which are new every morning. We praise Him for His faithfulness through a very difficult year. We praise Him for the opportunity to share with others about His goodness even in the midst of suffering.

For all of you who have prayed faithfully for Wilson here is a short video from this morning. Thank you for your prayers! Please don’t stop!

Movement!

  4. Thanking God with you all for the TWO marvelous miracles of God in rescuing, saving, healing and step by step recovery for BOTH your parents in one year! God, “You are AMAZING, more than AMAZING. Forever our God, you’re more than enough, you are AMAZING!” Anna, thank-you too, for taking all of us on in the midst of your own grief and response to all that has gone on. God bless you all, as you continue to walk in His truth and light. He is honored by your lives and we are blessed by your witness to His great faithfulness. Continuing to lift you all before the Father’s throne, especially the new baby boy coming.

What a great report! We praise God and our Lord Jesus Christ through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit for the news! Not only do I rejoice with you and your family, but I acknowledge how blessed I am reading your thoughts of the challenges of the past year. Hearing you thanking God for his goodness and faithfulness in the midst of day to day difficulties blessed me. Thank you.

My prayers remain with you and your extended family.

    1. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date with Wilson’s progress. The picture makes the miles between us seem less, like almost next door. Anna, your words are helpful in knowing how to pray with thankfulness for His care of your Mom and your Dad and for continued healing. I love you all.

ps Dear Katy, your Mother’s Day message spoke to my heart of the switched roles in this stage of our life. Thank you! You are doing great! There is wisdom coming forth, more and more, in strong Christian witness through your suffering. PTL!

  12. Ephesians 6:18The Message (MSG)

13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

    Your posts are so encouraging!

  15. Thank you Anna, for this awesome update and reminder to continually be thankful for ALL the small things, as well as the big ones that God is doing in my life too. I am blessed not to have health challenges, but sharing your journey has led me to pray for you all the moment I feel any little pain as I am working on a remodel of my latest “home”. Blessings and love, Helen
