Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” Slight rewrite of 2 Corinthians 1:3-11.
I don’t think we can write anything better than this passage. It perfectly states where we are today – and where we have been!
Yesterday, Mom was moved to Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center just down the road. It was a big moment! It felt both celebratory and completely overwhelming. There is definitely some anxiety through the transition for Mom and all of us, but we praise God that “He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He WILL deliver us.” We trust that at Cardinal Hill “He will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.”
Starting today Mom will have three hours of rehabilitation per day. She will be pushed in ways we can’t even imagine at this point. She truly needs prayers to “Be STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, do not be terrified, do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” – including Cardinal Hill.
Rehabilitation looks like Mount Everest, but we know that swallowing looked just as daunting and look what God has done! We remember and we trust. He has, He will, and He will continue to deliver us!
Please pray specifically for:
- Courage and strength
- Healing of the beginnings of thrush (not surprising with the amount of antibiotics she’s been on…but still a definite request!)
- SLEEP. Mom is struggling with sleep these days. Please pray for restful and peaceful nights that can restore her and prepare her for very difficult and exhausting days.
- No nausea. Pray for God to help her digestive system as it adjusts to medications and eating again. She has been fighting pretty bad nausea and upset stomach. Pray for relief as she heads into rehab.
Thank you for walking with us through the valley of the shadow of death! Today we feel we are on the other side…yet mountains still remain ahead. Thanks for being pilgrims with us on this difficult journey.

Prayers continue for precious Katy So grateful for this next step in her rehabilitation. Cardinal Hill is a great place to be but praying you don’t have to stay long. I know about rehabilitation but not from a stroke but from an automobile accident. Praying for His peace and strength through these days.Know His timing is perfect and also He is with you this next step.

A precious picture of Jaden with his grandmother. I can picture a heart warm smile on Katy’s face as they sit with each other. Praise God that Katy has been moved to rehab. I know the road is long and will have its challenges. We know Jesus will be with Katy all the way, holding her hand and guiding each step. I pray for peace and rest for Katy. Praise God for this next step for our dear Katy! Crying tears of joy as I read this latest post. You may or may not remember me from Asbury years ago. I was Vangie’s freshman roommate and also spent time with your parents when we were all with OMS. I have loved and admired your family for so many years. My heart broke for you when I first heard of Katy’s stroke. I have been praying for you ever since. I rejoice with you on her progress but also know all you are facing in the weeks ahead. My mom had 3 strokes in 2014 and I have traveled a similar journey with her.

I understand a bit of what you are going through and a bit of what you are going through Katy… Having just had open heart surgery and dealing with many complications … Trusting the Lord to work each issue out that crops up and having to rely totally on Him to provide the right doctor and correct rehab…you are in my heart and my prayers constantly. So thankful for answers to prayer taking Katy from hospital to rehab. Yes, still hills to climb, but we continue to pray and trust in His abiding presence for mom, dad, each of you. I came upon a reading today and think it says much.
“Prayer is not a last resort but a first-rate privilege. We don’t know how to pray as we ought, but we ought to pray anyway. We never know why some things happen as they do. But we stand upon the rocky shores of life and keep on praying, because prayer changes the one who prays as much as it changes those for whom we pray.”
I pray His presence…in sleep, in rehab, in eating and digestion, in quiet and solitude, in questions, in strength…spiritual, physical, mental, emotional. The Arnolds and Stallmers love you.

So thankful that Katy is out of the hospital and now in rehab at Cardinal Hill. We know there will be challenges in both strength and energy in the rehab process, but the God who has been with you so far will continue to be your strength and peace. You continue to be much in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Is she able to have visitors there at Cardinal Hill or does she not feel ready for that yet?

We are continuing to hold Katy up in prayer along with Stan and all the family. I love the scriptures of hope that you have been anchoring into from moment to moment. We haven’t faced a stroke but many bouts of cancer in our family that have been very, very hard. Stan was there for Emily and I at Beulah Camp meeting last June when our oldest daughter, Kimberly called us with the news of her second breast cancer. We were devastated! Stan prayed with us, checked on us constantly and said, “I wish Katy were here, she would know what to do and say.” He spoke so highly of her as does Emily, our daughter. I know she is a precious woman of God and continues to be a beacon of light and hope to others even when she may feel her candle is growing dim at times! Please tell Katy and Stan we love them and we know God has, He can and He will!

Yes. I will pray for her. I also pray for all of you. I understand your feeling and anxiety for moving her to rehab. I was there when David Do, my husband fell by severe pneumonia include bone infection. God saved him.
In the rehab he had very hard ordeal as he was pushed to work with his last strength to beyond his limit.
However he finally walked out of the rehab hospital with his both legs after two weeks had training. He is now serving his church with Grace of Almighty God.
I will pray for all of you. Just wait one week or two, you will see God’s help and work for His precious Daughter Kate. May love, grace, peace, comfort and strength and Power of Almight God be with her and you all.
Please say hello to Pastor Stan. We all have missed him all the time. Sung Do and Chelsea and I have talked about you all when we gathered on Christmas time.

Last evening six children with their Mom and Dad and myself watched last DVD series of this The Lord of the Ring.
While watching this last episode, one child made a remark that this movie has many endings!
He began to countâ¦five endings and plus more to comeâ¦
You already have gone through multiple endings of recovery. In each ending, there is victory.
No matter how next phrase may appear, know that God is on your side and he is with you.
He is the one who shall receive all the glory, honor and powerJ
There will be days you are feeling very tired and ill, do your best to keep the treatment appointment.
Let the therapists know how you are feeling that day and they will do their very best to accommodate your needs.
It is okay to feel discouraged. You know and we know that you are doing your very bestJ
I have seen how God uses the treatment time to bond relationship between the patient and therapistâ¦you are His messengerJ
Donât be overly concern if the appointment time doesnât match with your initial given timeâ¦therapist will comeJ
I know, because I am the one who transport the patients and often time the therapist are running late or earlyâ¦many reasons and out of their control.

Praying for great progress to occur each day! Just think how much you will appreciate simplicity when this complicated journey is over! Tough times render strength that could never be achieved otherwise! Thinking of you on this wintry day in Albany…jean bisnett ps Just a thought…we have been in Tampa the past week where the weather is sooo perfect most of the time. Those poor Floridians don’t appreciate it like we do. That’s because we have known and experienced real winter….real storms….real cold and know what it is like to go through them…..(just a thought)!

I tried to send a message yesterday but don’t believe it went through. I just want you to know I have been praying for you since I heard of your stroke. My heart goes out to you, and I will continue to pray for all of you in the days and weeks ahead. My mother had three strokes in 2014 and had to go through the subsequent rehab. She worked hard and is still getting along well for her age (almost 92). God is faithful and he will carry you through this trial as well.
I realize you may or may not remember me. I attended Asbury between 69 and 73 and roomed with Vangie our freshman year. I kept in touch with your parents through the years because of our relationship with OMS. I was in Ecuador briefly with Jack & Ruthanne. I have loved and admired your family for many years. I am praying for you now and will continue to do so. Blessings to you all.
